DIGITAL LEADERSHIP FOR A NEW NIGERIA



Every industry, from oil & gas to agriculture to chemicals & materials, manufacturing and financial is undergoing a digital transformation. Whether it be keeping up with a changing market, competition or optimizing internal operations. 

Recent research has shown that companies and businesses that have failed to adopt the invaluable innovation that digital transformation presents within the last decade are either struggling or have gone under. However, companies like Amazon, Tesla, Tata Consulting and Facebook have exploited this and remained the world's most valuable corporations in their respective terrain. 

Digital Transformation is disrupting every industry. No-one is immune. Not even the global economic and political landscape. 

Our dear country Nigeria is at a transition and every Nigerian needs to take advantage of this opportunity, be objective and own up to the responsibility that it presents void of sentiments and partisanship. 

There has never been a better time for the emergence of digital leadership at every level of governance in Nigeria. 

In 2019, the world crossed a milestone as half of the global population is now connected to the internet. However, less than 20 percent of people in developing nations are using the internet in comparison to 90 percent in developed countries. This gap represents a clear issue, developing countries are at risk of being left behind in digital transformation as the rest of the world forges on.

Developing countries in more extreme poverty may be at different stages in regards to digital transformation or not able to participate. In this instance when we refer to “developing countries,” we are referring to countries that are less socially and economically developed but are being disrupted by technologies and at a point where they need to participate in digital transformation.

We need to support, adopt and engage digital processes for the emergence of digital leadership at all levels in a rapidly evolving digital world.

That's how we can churn out effective leadership, stay relevant economically, exploit profitably the technological revolution, emerge the true giant of Africa and a great influence to the entire world.
